Privacy policy

MaterialMath ("we", "us", "our") respects your privacy. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what choices you have. If something here is unclear, email us at support@materialmath.io.

1. What we collect

• Calculator inputs: Numbers you type into our calculators (length, depth, etc.) are processed in your browser and never sent to our servers.
• Email addresses: If you sign up for a project checklist, join a waitlist, or use our contact form, we store the email you submit.
• Usage data: Standard log data such as IP address, browser type, pages visited, and referrer — collected via analytics.
• Cookies: See section 5.

2. How we use it

• To run and improve the calculators.
• To send you the project checklist or waitlist email you requested.
• To respond to messages submitted through our contact form.
• To measure traffic and understand which calculators get used most.
• To serve relevant ads via Google AdSense (see section 3).

We do not sell your personal information.

3. Google AdSense and DoubleClick DART cookie

We use Google AdSense to display ads on our calculator pages. Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads — including the DoubleClick DART cookie. The DART cookie enables Google to serve ads to you based on your visit to our site and other sites on the Internet.

You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of third-party vendor cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info/choices (DAA) and networkadvertising.org/choices (NAI).

Third-party advertisers and ad networks may use cookies on our site subject to their own privacy policies. We do not control these cookies.

4. Google Analytics

We may use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site. Google Analytics uses cookies to collect anonymized usage data such as pages viewed, session length, and approximate location (city level). You can opt out by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

5. Cookies

We use the following categories of cookies:

• Strictly necessary — required for the site to function.
• Analytics — help us measure and improve performance.
• Advertising — set by Google AdSense to show relevant ads.

You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but some features may not work correctly.

6. Affiliate links

Some links on MaterialMath are affiliate links. If you click through and buy, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you. This does not influence the math — the calculators show you exactly what to buy regardless of who you buy it from.

7. Lead requests (ready-mix quotes and similar)

When you request quotes through forms on our site (such as ready-mix concrete suppliers), we share the information you submit — name, email, phone, zip code, project details — with up to 3 local service providers in your area so they can send you quotes. These providers may contact you by email or phone. You consent to this sharing by checking the consent box on the form. You can opt out by emailing support@materialmath.io or by replying to any supplier email asking to be removed.

8. CCPA — California residents

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) gives you the right to know what personal information we collect, to request deletion, and to opt out of any "sale" of personal information. We do not sell personal information. To exercise your rights, email support@materialmath.io.

9. GDPR — European visitors

If you are in the European Economic Area, the UK, or Switzerland, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) gives you the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or port your personal data, and to object to processing. Our legal bases for processing are: consent (for marketing emails and non-essential cookies), legitimate interest (for analytics and site security), and contract (for fulfilling requested services). Email support@materialmath.io to exercise any of these rights.

10. Children's privacy (COPPA)

MaterialMath is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Data retention

Email addresses submitted through the project checklist form are kept until you unsubscribe. Contact form messages are kept for up to two years. Analytics data is retained per Google's standard policies.

12. Security

We use industry-standard practices to protect your data. No system is perfectly secure, but we use TLS for all traffic, encrypted storage, and limit access to personal data on a need-to-know basis.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent change. Material changes will be announced on the homepage.
